The Max Planck/Harvard
Research Center for Quantum Optics
invites applications for
Postdoctoral Fellowships in Collaborative Quantum Optics
The Harvard University Department of Physics (HU) and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) seek postdoctoral fellows for the collaborative Max Planck/Harvard Research Center for Quantum Optics (MPH-Quantum). Research and educational activities take place in fundamental and applied fields in the quantum realm including sensing, metrology, control, chemistry, many-body systems, and information science. Further details about MPH-Quantum can be found at https://mphq.physics.harvard.edu/
We invite applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships in Collaborative Quantum Science. Fellowships are awarded to outstanding young scientists for the duration of one year, with the expectation that the fellowship could be extended subject to mutual agreement and the availability of funds. The successful candidate will be based either at Harvard or at MPQ, with the opportunity to take advantage of our unique cross-institutional environment. Joint projects between Harvard and MPQ are encouraged.
Applicants should have completed their PhD no more than three years before starting the fellowship. The start date is flexible, but should be within a year of application. To apply, submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of research interests and goals (description of research interests and goals not to exceed 500 words). Applicants should also arrange for three letters of reference. All materials are accepted only through the web sites listed below. Applications will be considered beginning on November 15, 2019, but late applications may be considered.
Applicants should apply to the institution at which they would like to be based. All applications will be considered together by MPHQ PIs.
